The existing floor was stripped and prepared with Stopgap 1200 a low odour, fast setting and drying smoothing underlayment (floor covering can be laid 4 hours after application) that is particularly suitable for use over old adhesive residues without the need for priming. It is also suitable for use in clinical and biologically sensitive areas and ‘clean rooms’. The carpet tiles are by Shaw Contract Carpets in the Living Systems range (Transform colour 5T368 and Transform 5T365). The Living Systems range uses a specialised ‘TaskWorx’ backing, each tile is printed with a 1-800 number on the back to facilitate the return of the product at the end of its useful life at no cost to the customer, where it can be recycled or repurposed. The tiles were laid in the pattern requested by the client. They were very happy with the end result and we think it looks great. Thinking about recarpeting your office? Willington Village Hall

Willington Village Hall Our client asked us to restore the wood block floor in this well used and much loved building in the heart of Willington Village, Derbyshire. Our expert in sand and seal wood flooring, Scott, completed this project. The main hall floor was in desperate need of some TLC as some of the blocks were coming loose. The whole floor needed sanding and sealing to make it fit for its multipurpose use. Scott, our expert in sand and seal wood flooring, started by removing the loose blocks and re-sticking them ensuring a level finish to sand on. As he worked his way up the hall he found more and more loose blocks to re-stick so this became a slightly bigger job than we had anticipated. However, our Scott loves a challenge, so he got stuck in. The next stage was to sand the floor using our Bona Belt UX sander, first using 80 grit papers working our way up to 150 grit papers to give the smoothest finish. Around the edges of the floor we removed the old vinyl and screed and replaced with new. Then Scott gave the newly sanded floor a coat of primer. We use Bona Mega to prime the floor making it durable and ready for the lacquer finish. This is an important step in the process and shouldn’t be missed. As this hall is used for a variety of activities from dance and karate lessons to stage productions to parties and more, we used Bona Traffic HD Lacquer as the final coat giving it a finish that’s not only safe underfoot but also highly durable. It took 5 days to complete this sand and seal wood flooring project from start to finish. We think Scott has done an amazing job and our client is also delighted with the result. We can restore most types of wood flooring, from parquet to block to engineered wood or even traditional floorboards. Every floor is different though, so we like to come out and complete a free of charge survey on the floor to be able to give you the best quotation possible. No job too big or small.
