The Client Brief
Our client asked for a bathroom renovation that felt calm, considered, and free from anything too fussy. Creating a serene environment was the priority from the outset.
Introducing colour initially felt a little nerve-racking, as we were mindful of choosing something that would remain timeless. In the end, we opted for subtle pops of colour to bring depth without overwhelming the space. The client chose a powder blue tile made up of a mix of tones. This prevents the colour from feeling flat and instead creates gentle variation and layered interest across the walls.
The overall design has a modern, spa-inspired feel with subtle Scandinavian and contemporary influences. Clean lines, a balanced layout, and an uncluttered approach give the space a relaxed and timeless quality, focused on everyday comfort rather than trends.

The Products
Ca’Pietra Kinfolk Maple wood-effect tiles on the bath surround and opposite wall add warmth and a natural element, while the Ca’Pietra Maroc powder blue and Bamboo white softly glazed finish provide a refined, understated texture. Chrome fixtures were selected to keep the look clean and contemporary without overpowering the scheme.
The Villeroy & Boch, Architectura straight-edged bath and Merlyn framed glass shower enclosure reinforce the modern simplicity of the design. The Ambience Bain Tilli wall-hung vanity enhances the sense of space, helping the room feel light and open, while the combination of a bath and separate shower ensures the space is both practical and elegant. A Zhender towel rail and Ca’Pietra Chineford Porcelain floor tiles complete the look.
The Finished Result
Our client was thrilled with the finished bathroom and was glad she stepped outside her comfort zone with the colour choices. She’s excited to show it off to family and friends — and has already joked that she doesn’t want anyone else using it!
