Safety Vinyl Flooring for a Local Nursing Home

Our client requested non-slip safety vinyl flooring for their local nursing home in Derby.

The aging carpet, in place for an extended period, was in need of replacement.

AJ Floorcraft got to work by uplifting the old carpet and removing from the premises.

Getting prepared

We prepared the floor using Instarmac Pro 30 smoothing compound to guarantee a flat and sturdy subfloor, ready for the installation of IVC iSafe 70 wood-effect safety vinyl.

The project took around one week to complete and our customer is very happy with the finished results.

Reasons to choose safety vinyl flooring

Safety flooring is particularly well-suited for nursing homes and was the best choice on this project for several reasons:

1. Slip Resistance:

Moreover, safety vinyl is designed to offer excellent slip resistance, consequently reducing the risk of accidents and falls, especially in environments where residents may have mobility issues.

2. Hygiene:

Additionally, vinyl flooring is easy to clean and maintain, making it ideal for environments where cleanliness is paramount. It can withstand frequent cleaning with disinfectants without deteriorating, thus helping to maintain excellent hygiene.

3. Durability:

Furthermore, safety vinyl is highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. Therefore, it is suitable for high-traffic areas like nursing homes, where it can withstand constant foot traffic, wheelchair use, and other activities without showing signs of damage.

4. Comfort:

Many types of safety vinyl flooring offer underfoot comfort, which is beneficial for residents who spend a lot of time on their feet or seated. Additionally, some vinyl flooring options have cushioned layers that provide additional support and comfort.

5. Noise Reduction:

Vinyl flooring can help reduce noise levels within the facility, creating a quieter and more comfortable environment for both residents and staff.

6. Design Options:

Furthermore, vinyl flooring comes in a wide range of designs, colors, and patterns, allowing nursing homes to choose options that complement their interior decor while still prioritising safety.

Overall, safety vinyl flooring provides a combination of safety, hygiene, durability, and comfort, making it an excellent choice for nursing homes, where the well-being and safety of residents are paramount.
